Delicious food is served at Gillette

Across Campbell County those with a taste for good cuisine are in for a real treat. Several of them, in fact. The variety of dining opportunities in and around Gillette is as wide open as the Wyoming sky.

For starters, at Bootleggers Grill & Speakeasy, guests can enjoy a fun throwback theme to the days of gangsters and flappers (yet still kid friendly) as well as a menu stacked with burgers, seafood, pastas, sandwiches and vegetarian dishes. There is also a full bar with an extended wine list and a casual atmosphere.

The Chop House, established in May 1999 in the former Goings Hotel, serves hand-cut, aged Angus beef steaks and has fish flown in directly from both coasts. Desserts are made in-house, and all meals get prepared when ordered and not before. Pokey’s BarBQue and Smokehouse not only offers home-smoked que, but an expansive salad bar.

Fine Dining

Patrons of the Prime Rib Restaurant and Wine Cellar will see firsthand why the upscale eatery has won multiple awards for its world-class wine selection to being one of Elite Dining’s “Neighborhood Favorites.” With 8,000 square feet of dining space and a rich, soft atmosphere, a memorable experience awaits.

Pizza Carrello lives up to its name. In Italian, “carrello” means “trolley,” and this mobile wood-fired pizza-oven catering service operates just as that, providing quality Italian food at all sorts of festivals, street fairs, private events and more throughout Wyoming. Those who need even more of an Italian fix should check out Adriano’s Italian Restaurant for white-sauce pizza, lambrusco and high-quality steaks.

Casual Eating

The new microbrewery at Skyline Grille gives its guests a chance to decide which brews are best, and such fun work can be done with sample trays, 64-ounce growlers or on tap. The menu includes an extensive sushi selection, fresh seafood, steaks and pasta.

Here’s the 411 on the 311 Lounge ““ it combines an urban atmosphere and unique menu items right in the heart of downtown Gillette. Visitors can sit down to succulent dishes such as salmon mousse ravioli, smoked duck breast and chicken Frangelico. More than 85 beers and drinks are also served.

The tastiness doesn’t stop there. In nearby Wright, patrons of the Open Range Steakhouse can feast their taste buds on a variety of soups, pastas and specialty entrees. Favorites of the menu include Certified Angus Beef burgers, salmon BLTs and braised buffalo short ribs.

Farm Fresh

The Farmers’ Market gives people in Gillette a true taste of the local flavor. Held each Saturday morning between July and September in the Gillette College parking lot, the market is run by local master gardeners and features fresh meat, produce, prepared foods and crafts.
