Decatur General

An acute-care not-for-profit facility, Decatur General has about 275 beds. It is one of the county’s top employers, and the facility is a level two trauma center, determined by the Alabama Department of Public Health. Decatur General is also accredited by the Joint Commission. More than 200 physicians work at Decatur General across 20 specialty areas.

Parkway Medical Center

Voted by The Decatur Daily readers as best hospital and emergency room in a poll, Parkway Medical Center is a 120-bed hospital that touts its full-service approach to health care. The hospital has received many recognitions and accreditations including Alabama’s first accredited Chest Pain Center in the hospital’s Emergency Department. Parkway is also a Medicare Approved Bariatric Surgery Facility and an American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

North Alabama Regional Hospital

North Alabama Regional Hospital is Decatur’s facility for adult inpatient psychiatric care. This facility has about 75 beds and provides care for the entire region.
