Huntsville is rich with educational opportunities – from traditional four-year schools and graduate degree programs to technology-training classes and nontraditional courses tailored to the individual.
A University With Influence
The University of Alabama-Huntsville is widely considered one of the top universities in the Southeast, with an enrollment of approximately 7,100 undergraduate and graduate students. The university offers baccalaureate and graduate degree programs through its five colleges and also boasts 17 independent research centers, laboratories and institutes. “The research at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and its Ph.D. programs with concentrations in engineering and science, have made us nationally and internationally visible,” says Frank Franz, UAH president. “We have focused upon building strengths that reflect the needs and interests of the community that we serve. UAH is the result of the special character of Huntsville.”
