If one thing’s for certain, it’s that you won’t go hungry in Jasper and Walker County. Residents here enjoy an enticing mix of restaurants, from the locally owned, one-of-a-kind eateries to popular national chains and a charming tea room.

Independent Jasper Restaurants

In the mood for a sizzling steak? Head for Brangus Feed Lot Steak House, a Jasper dining destination for more than 15 years. Open for lunch and dinner, Brangus has a typical steak house menu along with ribs, chicken and seafood for those who prefer something other than red meat. The steak house has a rustic atmosphere with friendly service and arguably the best fried pickles in town.

Black Rock Bistro is another great pick for a sit-down meal in Jasper. The menu changes weekly, but favorites include gulf fish, beef tenderloin medallions, blackened amberjack, crab cakes, mussels and shrimp carbonara accompanied by tasty sides such as baked sweet potatoes and fresh asparagus. Be sure to try the fabulous fried green tomatoes.

Quigley’s Tea Room

Located blocks from the county courthouse in historic downtown Jasper, Quigley’s Tea Room serves a lunch buffet Tuesday through Friday with both hot and cold dishes. The quaint tea room is tucked inside the historical McPoliand home and features four dining rooms, each with different decor and a fireplace.

Quigley’s Tea Room is a popular destination for rehearsal dinners, bridal and baby showers, reunions and parties. The tea room specializes in homemade cakes, which you can enjoy by the slice or purchase whole and custom-decorated. Quigley's is also a full-service caterer.

Jasper Chain Restaurants

If you’ve never tasted Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q’s Scratch-Made Creamy Coleslaw (featured in Bon Appétit magazine's August 2010 edition) and slow-smoked pulled pork, you’re in for a treat. Jim ‘N Nick’s may be a chain restaurant, but cooks at each location prepare nearly everything from scratch, right down to the homemade pies.

Garfield’s Restaurant & Pub is another national chain that has set up shop in Jasper. It offers a diverse menu in a fun atmosphere. Sink your teeth into Garfield’s Waffle Cheese Fries, Honey BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Sizzling Fajitas or the Bleu Cowboy Burger. Your taste buds will be pleased.
