Barbecue & Southern Cooking

Fat Boy’s Bar-B-Que Ranch slow-cooks barbecue over hickory hardwood and features barbecue pork, beef brisket and smoked chicken. Chris’ Bar-B-Que has cooked its signature barbecue for more than 30 years and features favorites like pulled-pork sandwiches and slabs of ribs in addition to breakfast and lunch items. Jim ‘N Nick’s has locations throughout the Southeast and carries classics like beef brisket and Carolina-style pork as well as sandwiches, salads and sides.

Chicken fajitas, taco salad, steak quesadillas and “addictive salsa” make Mexico Tipico Restaurant a favorite. The restaurant’s full bar and banquet room is perfect for lunch meetings or family gatherings.

The new Gringo’s Tacos adds another option for Mexican food downtown.

For pizza, head to Marco’s Pizza or Mellow Mushroom, or to locally owned Midtown Pizza Kitchen, which features the option to build your own pies with fresh ingredients.
