Fayetteville caters to anglers as the area has five lakes, a stream and three rivers. These waterways deliver unique experiences and challenges because they differ greatly in size and fish variety.

Lakes

Beaver Lake feeds White River and covers 28,370 acres. It features a diverse population of striped bass, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, crappie, bream, channel catfish and spoonbill catfish. Beaver Lake offers multiple boat launching ramps as well as numerous places for fishing from shore.

Lake Fayetteville sits along the northern edge of Fayetteville and spans 194 acres of water. It provides a marina and numerous fishing piers. Lake Wedington extends over 102 acres of water and provides a boat launching ramp and boathouse. Wedington carries bass, bream, crappie and catfish and is regularly well stocked.

Lake Wilson has a more primitive atmosphere as it is set in 270 acres of majestic Ozark foothills. This environment makes Lake Wilson ideal for fishermen and picnickers looking for a relaxing natural retreat. Lake Sequoyah is suited for the serious anglers with its onsite bait and tackle shop and its boat launching ramp and dock.

Streams

White River provides two distinct fishing experiences. At the upper end is a wide variety of bass, catfish and sunfish, while the lower end below the Bull Shoals Dam is a popular place for trout fishing.

Kings River carries rock bass, channel catfish and walleye but is most renowned for its massive smallmouth bass. Mulberry River is home to green and longear sunfish as well as smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass. The Beaver Lake Tailwaters flow seven miles from the base of Beaver Dam and are heavily stocked with rainbow and brown trout.
