#49. Idaho Falls

Like the other Idaho cities on this list, Idaho Falls offers the best of both worlds: jobs that pay a lot and affordable living. Idaho Falls ranks in the top 5 for growth in high wage jobs; top 10 for affordable housing and household income growth; and the top 15 for per capita spending on food, health care coverage and commute time. The combination of jobs and affordability bodes well for younger entrepreneurs who may need to be scrappy, but Idaho Falls is also a great place for families – thus older entrepreneurs ready to settle down.
