Historic Newport, RI is entering a new era, as is evidenced by it ranking in the top 5 on this list for high wage job growth. It has also seen a good amount of household income growth, ranking in the top 15 for this category. The other benefit is affordable housing. Even though it’s in New England and situated nicely on the coast, Newport ranks in the top 5 for affordable housing on this list. Bottomline: Rhode Island on the whole is on a rebound, and Newport seems to be leading the charge.
