#8. Sparks
Despite being located in a congressional district that leans to the right, Sparks, Nev., offers a more moderate political environment. Most Sparks residents voted for Barack Obama during the last two presidential elections. Locally, Republicans have found support in Sparks. Mayor Geno Martini, a Republican, has held his position since 2005.
GovTrack classifies U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei, who represents Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, as a moderate Republican.
