#76. Fargo, ND

Home to North Dakota State University and Concordia College, Fargo is obviously a hub for education, but it’s quickly becoming a thriving tech and cultural center as well.

Situated on the Red River that separates it from neighboring Moorhead, MN, Fargo ranks high in outdoor activities because of many parks, 90 miles of trails and 17 outdoor hockey/ice skating rinks.

The city has a low tax structure ideal for attracting businesses, and the job market here is booming. Cultural attractions include museums, theaters and art galleries. With its college town feel, Fargo offers residents and visitors many opportunities for shopping, dining and nightlife that you’d normally find in a much larger city.

Housing here is still affordable, and Fargo’s many scenic neighborhoods are kept beautiful by an involved and proud population.
