#37. Ithaca, NY

One of the most picturesque communities in upstate New York is Ithaca, home to Cornell University and Ithaca College and ranked as one of Livability.com’s 50 Best Cities for Entrepreneurs.

Known for its scenic parks and beautiful waterfalls (more than 150!), one of the most visited local attractions is Buttermilk Falls State Park that welcomes more than 500,000 tourists each year to camp, fish, hike and swim.

City officials strive to combine modern development in Ithaca with historic charm, and residents enjoy a wide variety of fantastic restaurants, 25 wineries and four microbreweries. In addition, the community celebrates an annual Chili Fest every February and an Ithaca Apple Festival in the fall. Whatever your interest, there’s always something fun to do in Ithaca.
