Appearing once again on our Best Places to Live list, Missoula is a Montana gem surrounded by more than 60,000 acres of beautiful wilderness.
Home to the University of Montana, Missoula is also on Livability.com’s Best College Towns list, and many students visit Missoula’s Hip Strip portion of the city for dining, entertainment and shopping options.
The community’s outdoor recreation options are plentiful and include blue-ribbon trout fishing on rivers and lakes, while hiking and camping is excellent at Placid Lake State Park and Salmon Lake State Park.
