The Miami-Dade County Public School District is the fourth-largest school district in the United States. The district serves more than 300,000 students and spans 2,000 square miles. Parents within the Miami Dade County Public School District are free to choose the schools their children attend, and options include standard, as well as magnet, charter and alternative and vocational schools.
Nine private schools, including parochial and general academies, provide a broad selection of secondary education. Some of the city’s top rated schools include the St. Thomas Episcopal, the Riviera Day School and the Continental Academy.
