After launching her nursing career at AdventHealth Daytona Beach in 2016, McDaniel soon began assuming increasing responsibilities. She credits the leadership team and colleagues for encouraging her professional development and notes the infrastructure is in place to help all employees advance in their careers.
“We have a really great partnership with Daytona State Nursing program,” McDaniel says of her alma mater. “We help support the students’ clinical experience through employment opportunities like becoming a nurse tech,” she explains. “We have intentional conversations up front so where you work is aligned with your future goals and where you see yourself as a nurse.”
Additionally, she says AdventHealth works with other colleges and universities to provide a clinical rotation setting to help prepare the next generation of nurses. Learning continues long after graduation with a 12-month nurse residency program for new hires, plus ongoing professional excellence training.
