Avalon Park Brings New Urbanism to Volusia County, Florida

Those are the core ideas behind a new town called Avalon Park Daytona Beach in Volusia County.
This New Urbanism concept community is more than just a subdivision, says Stephanie Lerret, senior vice president of marketing and community relations for the developer, Avalon Park Group/sitEX.
The 3,000-plus-acre development on State Road 40 promises a harmonious blend of residential, educational, recreational and commercial amenities.
“Our ultimate goal is to create a town where people get a sense of community and belonging,” Lerret says. “Understanding that Avalon Park is also part of a bigger regional community, we are committed to being good community partners.”
Offering traditional-style homes at varying price points, the walkable community will focus on wellness and an improved quality of life. The recreational activities, planned green spaces and safe environment will encourage residents to get out and know their neighbors.
“This community will keep people close to where they live and reduce traffic,” Lerret explains. “All of their interactions and recreation can be within a walk if they choose to do so.”
Avalon Park Daytona Beach is the fourth Avalon Park Group/sitEX development of its kind in Florida. Volusia County’s booming economy and scenic location made it an ideal location, says Beat Kahli, president and CEO of Avalon Park Group.
“Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and the surrounding cities are wonderful,” Kahli adds. “They offer fantastic people, a beautiful environment, an attractive business community and an important sense of place.”
Avalon Park is expected to break ground in 2022, followed by the first residents moving in approximately a year later.
