Stroll the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District, which includes the Broward Center for Performing Arts, Nova Southeastern University’s Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, Florida Grand Opera, Fort Lauderdale History Center, Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, and the Historic Stranahan House Museum.


Go the beach! Be in good sands, as they say, and see why more than 5 million people a year flock to Fort Lauderdale’s 7 miles of public beaches. Cruise Las Olas Boulevard for excellent shopping, dining, galleries and people-watching. And don't forget Port Everglades where you can watch luxury liners and cruise ships come and go at the world’s busiest cruise ship port.

Events and Festivals

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October features everything from kayaks to super yachts at this huge show. Other notable celebrations include The Festival of Chocolate in Ft. Lauderdale (October); Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (October); Great American Beach Party (May); and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival (March).


Well-known chef Johnny Vinczencz presides over an inventive menu at this Las Olas Boulevard favorite, Johnny V. The portside Market 17 farm-to-table organic restaurant serves what it calls "wine country cuisine.” YOLO, a Las Olas Boulevard restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients.

Learn about all things butterfly at this amazing Tradewinds Park attraction, Butterfly World. At the Museum of Discovery and Science, see living coral reef! Bats and snakes! An IMAX theater!
