Athens' critically acclaimed restaurant 5 &10 is a dining experience unlike any other in Athens.

The restaurant is known for a daily-changing menu that combines the traditional flavors of the South with critically acclaimed chef Hugh Acheson's French cuisine training, as well as a seemingly endless wine list.

Rich delicacies such as cornmeal crusted veal sweetbreads, hand made pastas and low country frogomore stew bridge the gap between French and Southern with flair. Desserts include seasonal ice creams made in-house and lemon cake with thyme and coconut sorbet.

The experience is true fine dining, but it's not fussy. For a more casual alternative, come between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to enjoy the prix fixe menu.  Pay $24 per person and choose between two menus each with a three course meal.

Acheson has been a nominee for a prestigious James Beard award in the category “Best Chef Southeast” every year since 2007 and has been honored by Food & Wine magazine, among other national media. Acheson has also held the title of Athens Banner-Herald's “Reader's Choice Chef of the Year” since 2004.
