REG leading the way with cleaner fuel.
Sponsored by: Renewable Energy Group, Inc.
With the world moving toward a lower-carbon future to help protect the environment, it’s an exciting time to be working for North America’s largest biodiesel producer, Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (REG). Headquartered in Ames, REG is leading the transition to cleaner energy through the use of renewable fuels.
Biodiesel and renewable diesel, both produced by REG, are cleaner alternatives to traditional petroleum diesel. These products are made by taking waste or byproduct fats, greases and oils, such as used cooking oil from restaurants, and converting them into cleaner fuels. These fuels are then used in diesel vehicles including trucks, buses, tractors, ocean vessels and more. Biodiesel has been shown to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 86%, leading to significant savings over time.
“We truly feel that we are at the right place at the right time to help the world with carbon reduction.”
Trisha Conley, Senior Vice President of People Development at REG
“The COVID-19 pandemic has further emphasized to us the impact transportation is having on our environment,” says Trisha Conley, Senior Vice President, People Development at REG. “We truly feel that we are at the right place at the right time to help the world with carbon reduction.”
As leaders in the renewable fuel industry, it requires a talented team to operate the business. Currently REG employs nearly 900 individuals across the globe, with a diverse group of approximately 350 individuals working in Ames. These team members work in a variety of business roles including finance, IT, engineering, government affairs, sales and more. REG is always looking for new talent to join its team.
“We have a great culture at REG, which I believe is partially due to the fact that our team members are passionate about what they do,” Conley says. “It is extremely rewarding to work for a business that is truly helping to create a cleaner world for generations to come.”
As the world continues to move toward lower-carbon fuel options, REG stands ready to meet the growing demand. The business will not be able to do it though without a talented team standing with it, helping to create a cleaner world.
