In 2022, Collins opened its doors to its new facility in Ames. The Ames location offers employees reservable office stations and is equipped with all the latest gadgets, ensuring any Collins employee can work there.
The Carroll site machines fuel nozzle component parts for the Power & Controls business unit and feeds the Des Moines engine nozzles business. Primarily using traditional manufacturing methods, Carroll is home to more than 100 employees.
Cedar Rapids is home to Collins’ Avionics and Mission Systems business units. Today, approximately 8,000 employees live and work in the Cedar Rapids area. Manufacturing, engineering, marketing, finance and more are stationed here.
Collins has been part of Bellevue for nearly 35 years and produces components for cockpit displays and information management systems for commercial and business aviation customers.
Continuously evolving, the Decorah site manufactures avionics solutions for military, commercial and business aviation customers. It recently increased its workforce after completing an expansion for production of fire detection solutions.
Manchester is known as the center of excellence for avionics displays. As one of the smaller Collins locations in Iowa, the 200-member team is close-knit and dedicated to their work — with the average employee having been with Collins for 18 years.
One of the newest Collins sites, Des Moines supports the Power & Controls business unit, creating fuel nozzles for aircraft engines. It’s a traditional manufacturing business that has adopted new technologies such as 3D printing.
Coralville is home to a production and manufacturing facility; it includes a logistics center for material distribution in Iowa and other parts of the country and contains a very automated processing center for military and commercial products.
