The diverse natural beauty of Idaho's Magic Valley has long been a draw for human tourists, but a rich abundance of trails makes the area perfect for outdoorsy dogs.

Spring to fall, Twin Falls has free Movies in the Park in the city park's bandshell, where leashed dogs are welcome.

Don't mind that wet-dog smell? Balanced Rock Park in Castleford and Auger Falls in Twin Falls have waterfronts where well-behaved dogs can splash around. Since the areas aren't officially off-leash, courtesy is appreciated.

With or without leashes, the trails of Big Cottonwood Wildlife Management Area and City of Rocks National Reserve come highly recommended. The rustic trails are perfect for wild hikes with Rover, but dogs are required to be leashed in campgrounds and waterfronts.

Though leashes are required at all times, Shoshone Falls — sometimes called the Niagara Falls of the West — is a sight not to be missed.
