Stop in the Buffalo Cafe in Twin Falls for its house breakfast specialty, the Buffalo Chip skillet, a combination of fried potatoes, green chiles, sour cream, tomatoes, cheese, green onions and an egg on top.
Need to curb a massive morning appetite? The landmark Depot Grill in Twin Falls is famous for serving hungry diners the Train Wreck, an enormous 4½-pound platter of pancakes, sausage and eggs.

Enjoy your side order of french fries with fry sauce, a regional specialty great with fries or onion rings. Arctic Circle, a burger chain with locations in Twin Falls and Buhl, claims to have invented this sauce, but many local restaurants serve their own flavorful versions.
Head over to Stevo’s in Heyburn for burgers, steaks and fries with their own special spicy fry sauce. Shoshone Snack Bar features burgers, fries, hot dogs and its signature mile-high ice cream cones.
Those who yearn for a great deli sandwich, will enjoy The Twin Falls Sandwich Co. on Main Avenue, whose many signature offerings include the Balanced Rock, with ham, pastrami, bacon and cheddar cheese piled high on a fresh hoagie roll.
Barbecue-lovers, visit Coop’s Southern BBQ in Twin Falls, where you’ll find dishes like pulled pork sliders, smoked turkey legs and brisket. Feeling extra hungry? Try the infamous Meat Sweats Plate: a full rack of ribs, half a pound of brisket, two turkey legs, a pound of pulled turkey, a pound of pulled pork and six dinner rolls.
Chadwick Sports Grille in downtown Burley serves classic lunch fare like soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers, including the can’t-miss Chadwick, stacked with ham, fried egg, cheddar cheese and Angus beef. Another distinctive menu item is the Moo-Cluck-Oink, which includes an Angus burger, chicken breast, bacon, pepper jack cheese and aioli sauce.
Also in Burley, Ediths Cafe has a limited menu – just burgers and fries – but diners don’t mind. In fact, some say Ediths has the best burgers in all of Southern Idaho. The restaurant is only open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., so plan accordingly.
Pizza With Panache
Pizza can usually win over even the pickiest eaters, and if you’re looking for awesome pies in Southern Idaho, there are a couple of excellent independently owned pizza parlors loved by locals. Doc’s Pizza in Rupert has been serving customers since 1979 in the circa-1914 Guyer Building on the square. To ensure their pizza has a rich, fresh taste, they simmer their sauce for six hours, make dough and grate cheese daily.
In 2014, a new pizza business tossed its dough in the ring. In June, owner Tim Stastny opened the brick-oven pizza and pasta restaurant called Slice on Main Avenue in downtown Twin Falls. The restaurant also has a full bar, local and regoinal brews, and wines.
Delectable Dinners
The family-friendly Guppies Hot Rod Grille serves up classic American food in a fun atmosphere, offering burgers, fries, hot dogs, sandwiches and more. The downtown Twin Falls restaurant features vintage decor, a black-and-red checkered floor and a jukebox, reminiscent of a 1950s diner.
For a uniquely Southern Idaho dining experience, visit The Restaurant at Crossings Winery in Glenns Ferry. In addition to a spectacular view overlooking Three Island Crossing State Park, you’ll enjoy made-from-scratch cuisine developed by Chef Hilda Reyes, who uses locally sourced ingredients, including vegetables from the winery’s garden.
Jakers in Twin Falls has long been a go-to for consistently good food. The restaurant features northwest-grown USDA-choice beef, so a good bet is to try the Cajun bacon-wrapped sirloin or the Double R ranch prime rib, with au jus and a creamy horseradish sauce.
Prime rib is also a favorite at Henry’s at the Drift Inn in historic downtown Rupert. Henry’s is perhaps most famous, however, for its distinctive battered and fried finger steaks made from an original recipe that dates back to 1963.
Rock Creek Restaurant in Twin Falls is popular for steak and fresh fish, including halibut, swordfish, salmon, Alaskan snapper and oysters. Rock Creek takes pride in having one of the area’s best wine selections.
The Anchor Bistro & Bar in Twin Falls is a perfect place to catch a game on one of 15 flat screen TVs while enjoying 17 different beers on tap. The menu is diverse, with wings, salads, pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps and favorites such as the Anchor Mahi Club and the Downtown Philly.
International Delights
Visit the Asian Food Market in Twin Falls for authentic Indian cuisine as well as Vietnamese dishes like pho, a soup that includes rice noodles, broth and meat. The market also has hard-to-find sauces, spices, canned goods and packaged snacks.
