Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital

East Central Indiana residents receive comprehensive care through the Indiana University Health system, which includes IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Ranked among the top hospitals in the state by U.S. News & World Report, the facility covers 1.2 million square feet and employs over 400 physicians who represent more than 45 medical specialties.

The 322-bed IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is home to a regional cancer center that offers the latest treatment options, and it is the only facility between Indianapolis and Fort Wayne to provide perinatology services and a level 3-B neonatal intensive care unit.  In addition, the hospital has an emergency department that serves more than 61,500 people each year, and it offers cardiology services, orthopedics and sports medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation, radiology and imaging, surgical services, wound care and women’s health services.

St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital

Operated by St. Vincent Health, St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital is an acute-care facility offering cancer care, emergency care, hospice, outpatient services and much more. The 141-bed hospital also includes a 24-hour emergency department that treats more than 45,000 patients each year, while its mental and behavior health department cares provides specialized addiction treatment and mental health services.

Reid Health in Richmond

With its main campus in Richmond, which is home to a 217-bed hospital that is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, Reid Health serves approximately 280,000 people in six Indiana and two Ohio counties. In addition to an emergency department that treats more than 48,000 patients annually, the hospital includes a state-of-the-art heart and vascular center, cancer center and orthopedic center. The Reid Health system also includes numerous satellite facilities across eastern Indiana and western Ohio.

VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Marion

VA Northern Indiana Health Care System’s Marion campus has 75 acute psychiatry beds and a 150-bed nursing home care unit, plus clinics devoted to primary care, medical and surgical specialty care, and mental health. The campus also provides treatment programs designed for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, mental health issues and substance abuse.

County Hospitals in East Central Indiana

Facilities such as Jay County Hospital in Portland, Marion General Hospital in Grant County, Henry Community Health in New Castle and Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville also serve the East Central Indiana region, providing quality care that’s close to home.
