Held at the Santa Fe Commons Park, the Overland Park Fall Festival is popular annual event that features Johnson County's best arts and crafts fair. Other events at the fair include free concerts, a variety of child-friendly activities like inflatable obstacle courses and moonwalks, and of course, there's plenty to eat.

The Theater in the Park takes place at Shawnee Mission Park's outdoor amphitheater, which seats up to 4,500 attendees, and has a large stage with an orchestral pit and backstage. After more than 40 seasons, the theater continues to perform several plays each summer and enjoys annual attendance of about 50,000.

New Theater Restaurant is another favorite attraction in Overland. New Theater specializes in dinner and a show as it invites guests to enjoy delicacies like braised pork, roasted shoulder tenderloins and pasta primavera. Past performances and shows include comedians, plays and the annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
