Soccer Complex

Overland Park is home to the Overland Park Soccer Complex, which covers 96 acres and contains 12 lighted, regulation-sized synthetic turf fields. The complex also offers other amenities such as basketball and tennis courts, a skate park and numerous playgrounds. Due to the city's soccer scene, Overland Park is one of Livability's Top 10 Soccer Cities.


Overland Park is a paradise for park lovers. Johnson County contains more than 80 parks, most of which offer numerous activities and equipment including picnic areas, athletics fields and playgrounds, to name a few.

For dog lovers, four of those parks offer off-leash areas that allow dog owners to let their pooches run free. The parks with off-leash areas are Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park, which offers a 7-acre area; Shawnee Mission Park, measuring 53 acres; Heritage Park, with 30-acres; and Kill Creek Streamway, which has 16-acres.


Golf is a major pastime in Overland Park. The city's most popular 18-hole courses include: St. Andrews Golf Course, Nicklaus Golf Club, Leawood South Country Club in Leawood, Prairie Highlands Golf Course, Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club in Prairie Village, Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe and Falcon Ridge Golf Course in Lenexa.

Overland is also home to two courses with unconventional course layouts. Brookridge Golf & Fitness has 27-holes, and Sykes/Lady Overland Park Golf Course offers 27 holes configured as three 18-hole courses and one nine-hole course.
