Kenner students attend school in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. The are 88 schools in the parish, and, when it comes to student enrollment, Jefferson Parish schools are nationally ranked in the top 100. There are 152 teachers who are nationally board certified, the most of any school in Louisiana.
Kenner’s only high school, Alfred Bonnabel High School, has a noteworthy music department that has been awarded a GRAMMY Signature Schools Community Award.
Kenner is home to four private schools, all of which are religiously affiliated. Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School are both tied to the Catholic church, and Restoration Christian Academy is a Christian school. The Islamic School of Greater New Orleans can be found in Kenner.
Kenner’s private schools help students to round out their learning experiences. For example, students at Our Lady of Perpetual Help can take robotics as an enrichment, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School gives students the opportunity to participate in community service and service learning through Jr. Beta Club and Youth Ministry. Both the Islamic School of Greater New Orleans and Restoration Christian Academy offer religious classes.
