Lafayette General Medical Center
Voted Best Hospital by the readers of the The Times of Acadiana, Lafayette General Medical Center is the largest acute-care facility in the nine-parish region of Acadiana. With 350-plus beds, this large medical center is also the only hospital in the region owned and managed by the Lafayette community.
Lafayette General Medical Center also has a partnership with Lafayette General Surgical Hospital. Four operating rooms and 10 short-stay beds help make up this 60,000-square-foot facility that provides surgical care for everything from urology to ophthalmology.
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette has more than 200 beds and 400 physicians, which provide patients with a wide range of specialties. The hospital has a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and their Neuromedical Services include a Stroke Center of Excellence. One of the best orthopedic programs in the country can be found at Our Lady of Lourdes, and the region’s only burn unit is housed here as well.
The Heart Hospital of Lafayette and Park Place Surgical Hospital are tied to Our Lady of Lourdes.
The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana
The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana is another acute-care hospital that provides patients with an array of health care. The facility’s services include cardiovascular, orthopedics and rehabilitation.
Affiliated with the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana, Women’s & Children’s Hospital is the second largest childbirth hospital in the state. Children from birth to 17 are treated at this facility, and the hospital has the only children's emergency room that is open 24-hours a day.
