Between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore is Fort Meade, a U.S. Army base with nearly 20,000 employees and offices that include the National Security Agency, U.S. Cyber Command and the Defense Information Systems Agency.
University System of Maryland
Overseeing 11 degree-granting institutions and one research facility is the University System of Maryland, based in College Park. The system’s entities include Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Frostburg State University, Salisbury University and Towson University among others.
