Homebuyers choose to settle in La Plata and surrounding Charles County for the cozy, small-town charm of its communities, which include Indian Head, Port Tobacco Village, Waldorf, Cobb Island and St. Charles.

St. Charles also includes an active adult community called Heritage at St. Charles, which is open to people age 55 and older.
