Public Schools
While Ann Arbor is synonymous with higher education, this college town knows that all levels of education are important. With a GreatSchools.org rating of 9 out of 10, Ann Arbor’s public schools are some of the best in the country. The city has more than 16,000 public school students, and these students consistently score well on tests, including 40 points higher on verbal and math SAT scores than the state average.

Geography doesn’t play a part in what school a child attends; Ann Arbor has the option for both intradistrict and interdistrict choice, so a student can move to a school inside or outside of their district.

Private Schools
For families looking for a faith-based institution, Ann Arbor provides several choices, including Ann Arbor Christian School and Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor. Montessori schools are among the more than 20 private schools in the city, so families and students have plenty of options for children from kindergarten to graduation.
