Most know the Fargo-Moorhead area as a college town because of the approximately 14,500 students enrolled at North Dakota State University in Fargo, but several other higher education institutions contribute to the area's 30,000-plus student population and college town vibe, including several in Moorhead.
Minnesota State University Moorhead, part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, enrolls approximately 9,000 students annually pursuing degrees in 76 majors and 170 emphases.
Minnesota State Community and Technical College, or M State, offers several University Transfer Degrees – Associate in Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Fine Arts, plus many Career Programs to earn specialized certifications and diplomas. In addition to its Moorhead campus, M State operates an online eCampus program along with physical campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls and Wadena.
Concordia College, a private, coed liberal arts institution, enrolls more than 2,600 students annually pursuing degrees in more than 60 majors and a dozen pre-professional programs.
