When it comes to advanced manufacturing, we’re kind of a big deal. In 2016, the Brookings Institution ranked the Jackson Metro area third in America for growth in the advanced industries sector. A key factor in this is the Nissan Vehicle Assembly Plant in Canton, which launched production in 2003 and currently has a capacity of 450,000 vehicles annually. The facility employs 6,400 workers who skillfully craft vehicles such as the Nissan Frontier, Murano, NV Cargo, NV Passenger, Titan and Titan XD. To top it off, these employees constitute an annual payroll of $400 million.
