There is plenty of excitement in store regarding the shopping scene in Jacksonville, led by Jacksonville Mall and Gateway Plaza.
Anchored by Belk, JCPenney and Sears, Jacksonville Mall has more than 65 stores along with a 16-screen Carmike Cinemas movie theater. Besides the three department stores, other big-name retailers include AT&T, Bath & Body Works, Foot Locker, GameStop, Kay Jewelers, Sunglass Hut and Victoria’s Secret, as well as two (yes, two!) Starbucks Coffee shops.
The mall also houses a number of locally owned shops, including Foster’s, which sells military souvenirs. If you’re into music, the Musician’s Toy Store sells a full line of instruments along with P.A. systems, sheet music, soundboards and more. By the way: Jacksonville Mall has dining options such as Ben & Jerry’s, Chick Fil-A, Great American Cookie Co., Pagoda Chinese Restaurant, Pretzel Twister, Red Robin and Tony’s Pizza.
Also in Jacksonville is Gateway Plaza, only a few miles from Camp Lejeune and situated on the city’s main retail corridor along Western Boulevard just off of Highway 17. Stores at Gateway Plaza include Kirkland’s Home, PetSmart, Ross Dress for Less and Target.
Meanwhile, the Jacksonville downtown district features a number of interesting shops as well as restaurants, including Brewed Awakenings Downtown, Carolina Ale House, Ducks Grille & Bar. Golden Dragon Restaurant and Mi Cabana.
