Tech companies, advanced manufacturing lead array of industries

It’s all business for many successful companies in Fargo Moorhead, with industries representing advanced manufacturing, technology and other major economic players. Here are examples:

Tech Companies

Myriad Mobile features an ownership group of twenty-somethings who specialize in building mobile apps for businesses, while Appareo Systems designs and manufactures innovative electronic and software solutions for original equipment manufacturers as well as direct-to-market consumer products. Local health-care sector firm Evolution1 simplifies the business aspect of health care through electronic payment solutions, and Packet Digital designs and develops technology that extends battery life by up to 400 percent in wireless sensors.

Botlink is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) software and hardware platform, providing customers the power to perform smarter drone operations. Sundog initiates marketing and technology strategies for companies looking to become more innovative. At Microsoft Fargo, more than 1,600 employees and vendors develop and support major software products such as Dynamics, SQL Server and Visual Studio. Its Executive Briefing Center supplies information and updates to visiting prospects, customers and partners.

Advanced Manufacturing

Titan Machinery's Shared Resources office in West Fargo represents a mix of agricultural, construction and consumer product dealerships located in the upper Midwest. Caterpillar Reman has an assembly plant in West Fargo that produces remanufactured drive train components for large off-highway trucks and other mining equipment. Also with its corporate offices in West Fargo, Bobcat Company focuses on the engineering, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of construction equipment.

In Fargo proper, Amity Technology, an agricultural machinery firm, maintains its R&D and manufacturing headquarters. Integrity from Marvin specializes in window and door engineering for customers all over the United States, and farm and construction equipment manufacturer and retailer Case New Holland's Fargo plant produces four-wheel-drive agricultural tractors and wheel loaders, employing 700 people.

Other Large Employers

Several other major companies contribute to the regional economy of Fargo-Moorhead, including Discovery Benefits, Otter Tail Corporation, RDO Equipment, Sanford Health, Integreon,Swanson Health Products, U.S. Bank, Vanity and Wells Fargo. Eide Bailly is a certified public accounting firm that provides a variety of accounting, tax and financial services, and the company’s Fargo office houses more than 300 partners and staff members. North Dakota State University employs more than 17,000 people (including 4,000 faculty) throughout its statewide system, and today the university offers 102 undergraduate majors, 81 master’s degree programs and 47 doctoral degree programs of study.
