If you crave flavorful cuisine inspired by cultures from around the world, you’ll love Los Alamos’ restaurant scene. While there are dozens of delectable options across the community, we’ve created a list of the very best dining spots the city has to offer. In no particular order, here are the top 10 restaurants in Los Alamos:

1. Blue Window Bistro

Ranked as the No. 1 restaurant in Los Alamos by TripAdvisor.com reviewers, Blue Window Bistro is known for both its atmosphere and fantastic food. The restaurant’s lunch options include soups, salads, sandwiches (word on the street is the duck BLT is a can’t-miss) and tacos, while its dinner menu features entrees like Mediterranean seafood pasta and pork tenderloin. Have room for dessert? Blue Window has several tempting treats, such as chocolate mousse, tiramisu and pumpkin bread pudding.

2. Viola’s Restaurant

Viola’s Restaurant is a favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Los Alamos, serving up New Mexican cuisine like huevos rancheros, breakfast burritos, carne adovada and green chili cheeseburgers, plus American classics. 3. Pyramid Cafe

Offering authentic Mediterranean, North African and Greek food, Pyramid Cafe’s menu includes options like gyro sandwiches, homemade moussaka and chicken roti. Open daily for lunch and dinner, Pyramid Cafe’s Los Alamos location is tucked in a strip mall on Central Avenue.

4. Ruby K’s Bagel Cafe

Looking to grab a quick bite? Head to Ruby K’s Bagel Cafe, a locally-owned eatery that serves breakfast favorites like homemade bagels and cream cheese (obviously) and pastries, plus lunch foods, including salads, soups and sandwiches. Wash it all down with a fruit smoothie – available in flavors like mango, peach and margarita – or try a fresh juice, such as watermelon limeade. Although Ruby K’s is small, there’s a park across the street that’s the perfect place to enjoy a meal during peak times.

5. Chili Works

Many Los Alamos folks describe Chili Works as a “hole-in-the-wall” restaurant, and that’s a good thing – after all, foodies know the best meals often come from the most unassuming places. Authentic northern New Mexican dishes, like breakfast burritos stuffed with meat, potatoes, eggs and chili, are prepared inside a small shack, and patrons can grab a table in the outdoor seating area or take their order to-go. Word to the wise: You get a lot of food for your money at Chili Works, so come hungry.

6. Cafe Sushi

You’ll want to arrive fairly early if you plan to enjoy a meal at Cafe Sushi; locals say the restaurant is so popular that it often runs out of fish before its official closing time. The good news? If you can make it in time, you’ll receive top-notch service, and after you’ve been there once or twice, they’ll probably have both your name and your order memorized. In addition to its tasty sushi rolls, the restaurant is known for its spicy tuna salad.

7. El Rigoberto’s Taco Shop
