Public Schools

Syracuse has three major school districts: Syracuse City Schools, Westfield School District and North Syracuse Central School District.

Among the largest districts in the entire state of New York, the Syracuse City School District accommodates more than 19,000 students in grades K-12 as well as 1,300 in Pre-K. If you are looking for a diverse student body, then Syracuse City Schools is a good place to experience a melting pot of races and cultures. In addition, almost 20 percent of Syracuse City School teachers hold a Masters degree.

Westhill Central School District is a medium-sized district in Syracuse with about 2,050 students. The four schools in the district consistently showcase impressive test scores, earning them a nine out of 10 on greatschools.com. The North Syracuse Central District enrolls almost 10,000 students for K-12.

Private Schools

With more than 25 private schools, Syracuse is a viable place to receive a private education in grades K-12. Mostly parochial, there are many opportunities for kids to learn in a religious setting.
