There’s no script for the growing city of Huber Heights.

As the fastest growing community in Miami County and the second-fastest growing community in Montgomery County, the city of 38,000-plus is continually inspired by the needs of the community it serves, explains Sarah Williams, community engagement specialist for the City of Huber Heights.

By encouraging participation through various boards and commissions, the city’s residents have helped shape the amenities and options they enjoy.

“Huber Heights is a very collaborative community that’s always willing to look for partners in this growth journey,” Williams says. “Our leaders are always willing to look at the whole picture and ask our citizens what they want. That’s the whole embodiment of how Huber Heights works.”

This spirit of cooperation and creativity has spawned the development of friendly neighborhoods with high-quality housing options, a full-service YMCA, an extensive system of community parks and a wide array of sports fields and recreational activities.

The community is also proud of having two K-12 school districts, Huber Heights City Schools and Bethel Local Schools, that provide a variety of educational opportunities and sports programs, Williams says. For higher education opportunities, the area offers Sinclair Community College and access to 25 other area colleges and universities.

The proximity to Dayton and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base also makes Huber Heights a hub for manufacturing and commercial jobs.

With over 800 businesses in the area, the city is home to 500 acres of high-traffic retail space that includes dining, shopping and entertainment options. Huber Heights is a hometown where people can live, work and play without ever having to leave, Williams says.

Both residents and visitors enjoy popular venues like Rose Music Center at the Heights, which attracts big-name artists like Collective Soul and The Doobie Brothers.

The Kroger Aquatic Center water park is a favorite outdoor destination along with the new farmers market held on Saturdays at the Eichelberger Amphitheater.

“It’s a well-balanced community that thinks out of the box,” Williams says. “Everything you need is right here."
