The quality of life for residents in Broken Arrow is greatly enhanced by two excellent hospitals – St. John Broken Arrow and Saint Francis Hospital South. Here is some background on each:

St. John Broken Arrow

St. John Broken Arrow, part of Ascension, the nation's largest Catholic and nonprofit health system, is a 68-bed, not-for-profit hospital. The hospital offers private rooms and services including cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonary care and sports medicine. Healthgrades recognized the hospital in 2016 as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement.

In the emergency room, board-certified doctors and registered nurses perform all types of medical procedures. St. John has an onsite laboratory for everything from simple blood tests to complex tissue biopsies. Also available to patients is pastoral care: team members believe that tending to a patient’s mind and spirit is an integral part of physical recovery.

The hospital has six operating rooms, two special procedure rooms and a recovery area. A 100,000-square-foot medical office building for physicians is connected to the hospital. St. John also partners with Tulsa Bone & Joint Associates to provide Broken Arrow Public Schools with a comprehensive sports medicine program.

Saint Francis Hospital South

Saint Francis Hospital South, part of the Saint Francis Health System, is on the border of Broken Arrow and Tulsa and serves thousands of Broken Arrow residents. The 96-bed facility, which opened in 2007, has more than 350 physicians. Its services include cardiology, emergency care, hospice, imaging, orthopedics, pulmonology and a Level II natal intensive care unit.

The hospital offers a full range of specialized surgeries such as head and neck, gynecological and neuro/spine, and Saint Francis even has a team of hand surgeons dedicated to the treatment of hand disorders and trauma. Also on staff are plastic surgeons who specialize in liposuction, breast enhancement, breast reconstruction and tummy tucks. The hospital is highly ranked for urological care in treating kidney stones, bladder tumors and prostate disease.
