It’s easy to go out and play in Broken Arrow, where a wide range of sports and recreation opportunities are available for adults and youth. In fact, the citizens of Broken Arrow routinely pass bond issues to improve and expand youth sports facilities.

Adult Leagues

Broken Arrow Parks & Recreation schedules many adult softball leagues at Indian Springs Sports Complex, and there is even a couple’s night league. Volleyball co-ed leagues are scheduled during the fall, and Broken Arrow has five golf courses that offer tournaments and leagues. One of the most popular is a summer golf league at Battle Creek Golf Club.

Youth Football and Cheerleading

Broken Arrow Youth Football Association organizes tackle football for children enrolled in grades one through seven in the Broken Arrow Public School District. A flag football league is also available for kids in kindergarten through third grade. The community has excellent facilities for youth football practices and games, highlighted by a spacious complex inside Nienhuis Park.

Broken Arrow offers a cheerleader and pom-pom program to all children from grades one through seven for both tackle football and competition seasons. Some teams choose to participate in cheerleading or dance competitions after football season.

Youth Baseball and Softball

More than 450 Broken Arrow residents are involved with administration and coaching to actively promote and supervise youth baseball in the community. Participation in Broken Arrow Youth Baseball is available to all boys and girls 3-18; most games are played in a large city-owned ballpark complex at the intersection of Shreveport and Fawnwood.

Broken Arrow Girls Softball League has brought softball to Broken Arrow since 1972. It features seasonal leagues for girls up to age 18 as well as the ability to participate in national tournaments.

Youth Soccer

Soccer is huge in Broken Arrow and on the same level as football and baseball. Games are played at the impressive Indian Springs Sports Complex, which consists of more than 30 soccer fields. The Broken Arrow Soccer Club, which is one of the largest soccer clubs in the state, offers spring and fall leagues with spots on approximately 180 teams for children ages 4-18. There is also a development program for 4-year-olds to help get them started in the sport. Participants who meet certain criteria are eligible for one of four $500 college scholarships annually awarded to area high school seniors.

Youth Basketball and Lacrosse

Broken Arrow Youth Basketball is part of the Indian Nation Basketball Conference and open to all children living in Broken Arrow or attending a school within its system, from kindergarten through eighth grade. Broken Arrow also features an Indian Nations Lacrosse Conference. Established in 2013, it includes several youth lacrosse teams that compete against teams around the Tulsa region.

Broken Arrow has the finest football facilities for youth, which is second to none.
