Tulsa, OK Restaurants Overview: Irish Pubs
Tulsa's dining scene features two favorite Irish pubs.
While Tulsa is more than 4,000 miles from Ireland, locals love pub grub and a great beer selection. It’s fitting that the city’s two most popular restaurants are both imported pubs with an American twist.
Kilkenny’s Irish Pub
One of Tulsa’s most popular restaurants, Kilkenny’s Irish Pub brings a bit of the Emerald Isle to Oklahoma. The pub has 16 draught beers as well as almost 30 bottled varieties, and don’t forget the selection of about 30 different irish whiskeys and single malt scotches.
But Kilkenny’s is more than a watering hole. Their food is award-winning and moderately priced. Try one of the seven kinds of boxty, a grilled potato pancake stuffed with anything from corned beef and cabbage to salmon and creamed leeks.
James E. McNellie’s Public House
With two other locations in the state, Tulsa's James E. McNellie’s Public House is the place to go when looking for a good brew. More than 350 beers can be found at this popular bar, including draughts from all over the world, and the menu is classic pub food with influences from Ireland and America. Their $3 burgers on Wednesdays are raved about, and, at that price, it’s no wonder why locals frequent this old-school spot.
