You haven’t had a pecan pie until you’ve had one from Young Plantations in Florence. At least, that’s what the locals will tell you. In fact, the company’s pies have become a Florence Thanksgiving tradition – selling some 10,000 pies for the occasion.

Young Plantations has been providing Florence residents and visitors with premium pecans, pecan candies and baked goods since 1923. The company sells a variety of pecan products including whole pecans and pecans coated with chocolate, praline, butterscotch and amaretto, among others. Young Plantations opened an 8,000-square-foot retail store, bakery and restaurant in April 2008 off Exit 164 along Interstate 95 and also operates stores in Fort Mill, Mount Pleasant, Columbia and Myrtle Beach. Young specializes in corporate and personal gourmet gifts, shipping 40,000 packages annually to all 50 states and 40 foreign countries. The company bakes its own cakes, breads, pies and muffins at the Florence location, and the store also serves lunch, coffee and ice cream, too.
