Tennessee Economic Development Guide
Tennesse is an epicenter of American music, from Beale Street in Memphis to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The state is also home to eight Fortune 500 companies, including top employer FedEx, that has helped make the state a major transportation and logisitcs center. Nissan and Volkswagen plants make auto manufacturing one of Tennessee’s major industries alongside health care and energy technology. The economy of Tennessee also relies on its vast education system with universities and colleges that include Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee.
