Locals are living the high life in Maury County, and it’s easy to see why. The community is consistently expanding and improving, offers a wealth of quality jobs and provides ample recreation and entertainment options.

Whether it’s emergency care, preventative care or routine exams, residents have a number of state-of-the-art facilities at their fingertips, and their health care options continue to grow – a new behavioral health hospital opened in early 2020.

To ensure residents’ needs continue to be met, area health care providers recruit only the most talented and highly skilled physicians and consistently update their treatment options.

Patient-Focused

Columbia-based Maury Regional Health, anchored by the 255-bed Maury Regional Medical Center, has consistently ranked among the top 15 U.S. health systems by IBM Watson Health. Maury Regional Medical Center was named No. 1 in medical excellence and patient safety in Tennessee by CareChex and was recently recognized by the state of Tennessee as one of the top medical centers for newborns.

The facility offers services in childbirth, critical care, neonatal intensive care, oncology, orthopedics, surgery and much more. Dr. Martin Chaney, a physician and Maury Regional’s chief medical officer, says he was attracted to Maury Regional because of the organization’s culture and commitment to best practices that result in better patient outcomes.

“Maury Regional Health has become a regional leader in health care. The organization’s commitment to offering advanced services and delivering quality patient outcomes attracts physicians to work in this community,” Chaney says. “Our medical staff now exceeds 225 physicians whose specialties range from primary care to oncology. During my career, this has been the most patient-centered organization at which I have worked, and I am proud of the exceptional care that we provide this community.”

Private Rooms, On-Site Imaging

Day or night, TriStar Spring Hill ER is ready to handle medical emergencies. The facility is equipped with a full-service laboratory and advanced radiology services, and board-certified physicians, registered nurses and experienced clinical staff use the latest medical technologies and testing.

Plus, TriStar Spring Hill ER prides itself in giving patients an outstanding experience. In fact, emergency patients are taken to a private room for consultation with medical staff within minutes of arriving.

“At HCA TriStar’s Spring Hill ER, we are proud to be here to help our neighbors when they need help the most,” says Keri McKamey, director of TriStar Spring Hill. “We say our mission is to care like family, and we take this commitment very seriously.”

Partnering for Better Health

To better serve the community, these two major health care providers – TriStar and Maury Regional Health — teamed up for a new venture, opening Pinewood Springs, a 60-bed, 49,000-square-foot behavioral health facility in February 2020 that provides semi-private rooms, outdoor spaces, 24-hour nursing care and a full cafeteria.

Pinewood Springs offers acute behavioral health care for adolescents and adults, treating psychosis, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder, among other things. Plus, the facility provides comprehensive assessments, individual and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, physical therapy, therapeutic activities, family therapy, 12-step meetings, medical evaluation and management, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies and a virtual treatment “mall,” which allows patients to select from numerous skills-based classes.

It employs approximately 100 providers and staff.

“We are thankful to be able to meet such a critical need in Maury County and the surrounding area,” says Troy Chisolm, CEO of Pinewood Springs. “At HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division, we are committed to caring like family. Pinewood Springs is here to give behavioral health patients hope, to restore health, and to support the entire family during a difficult time.”
