Landmark Restaurants

Southerners love fried catfish, and people in Dickson County get their fix at Catfish Kitchen in Burns. Not only does the establishment have piping hot catfish, but it also offers traditional trimmings like hush puppies, white beans, French fries and tasty vinegar coleslaw.

Charlotte’s Hometown Pharmacy on Highway 48 in Charlotte is a great spot for more than just getting prescriptions filled. The pharmacy also has ice cream, shakes and other soda shop favorites, plus many fun gifts.

For a retro experience, visit Stuffy’s Frosty Jug. Along with classic car cruise-ins, Frosty Jug is the place to go for handmade milkshakes, sundaes, smoothies, burgers, fries and an array of comfort food staples from pork chops to chicken pot pie.

Barbecue Joints

Ronnie’s Q is known for tasty, wood-fired pork barbecue and ribs served with a variety of homemade side dishes, and it also offers delivery and catering – including whole-hog barbecue. In downtown Dickson, just follow the enticing aroma of barbecue to Back Alley BBQ, which serves up juicy, flavorful ribs, pulled pork, brisket and chicken, plus hearty down-home sides such as corn pudding, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad. In addition, Carl’s Perfect Pig in White Bluff has carried on the tradition of old-fashioned pit barbecue for more than 25 years and was named one of the best barbecue restaurants in the U.S. by The Wall Street Journal.

The Hummingbird Restaurant serves classic American dishes, and House of Brews offers traditional pub food along with many craft beers on tap.
