By Livability.com on February 1, 2016

Somewhat isolated, Fairview, TN is still convenient to many top attractions in Middle Tennessee. Downtown Nashville, with honky tonks, pro sports teams, large concert venues and iconic restaurants, is less than half an hour from Fairview, but surrounding Williamson County offers plenty of entertainment choices. In fact, many people living in Fairview find that the growing number of activities and things to do in their community keep them plenty busy. Here’s a look at some of the best things to do in Fairview and nearby:

Bowie Nature Park

Before her death in 1992, Dr. Evangeline Bowie graciously deeded 722 acres to the city of Fairview, which has been placed into a trust to protect it from development. Today, Bowie Nature Park is a protected habitat for birds, deer and a variety of wildlife. The park includes a large frontier-themed children’s play area called the Treehouse Playground, a 17-mile network of trails for mountain biking and horseback riding. (Users are asked to pay $2 to use the trails.) There are also fishing ponds and a nature center, which includes a museum and classroom space. Picnic shelters and an outdoor classroom may be rented by the day or half day.
