Old Hickory Lake provides Gallatin residents with opportunities to fish, boat and swim throughout the year.

Recreation

Old Hickory Lake is Gallatin’s major outdoor attraction with several access points within the city.  It’s a magnet for boaters and fishermen.  Bledsoe Creek State Park is also located in Gallatin.

Attractions and Festivals

The Historic Palace Theater is the oldest standing silent movie theater in Tennessee,  circa 1913, the Historic Downtown Gallatin proudly presents the completely restored Palace Theatre. This theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and hosts a variety of shows, events, and movies every Friday and Saturday night.



The Main Street Festival is held the first Saturday in October.  Squarefest is held in April each year.



Historic Downtown Gallatin features quaint shops and trendy boutiques. Several major retailers are available within a 15 minute drive.

Health and Wellness

Nearby Sumner Regional Medical Center serves Gallatin residents and the services of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital as well as other Nashville health care centers are within 30 minutes driving distance.

Great Schools

The Great Schools national ratings services gives Union Elementary, a STEM school, a perfect 10.  Gallatin residents may also qualify for Merrol Hyde Magnet School, a K–12 school in Hendersonville, Tennessee adhering to the Paideia philosophy.
