Although they are two distinct facilities, Baptist Hospital West and Baptist Hospital for Women in west Knoxville are known more for their similarities than they are for their differences.

One caters to the health-care needs of women, and the other is a multipurpose full-service center with specialties in cardiovascular care and cancer treatment. Baptist Hospital for Women is the area’s first facility devoted exclusively to health care for women. Its first-class birthing center features 10 labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms, offering expectant mothers all the comforts of home. There is also an infertility center available. The hospital also offers a full range of diagnostic services, including digital mammography and ultrasounds, bone densitometry studies and stereo tactic breast biopsies.
