Eugene, OR's students have some big shoes to fill. Home to the University of Oregon's famous Hayward Field and the launching point of the Nike shoe franchise, this is one town that knows how to keep college kids running – on and off the track. Those who enjoy the sport have certainly found their place in Eugene, nicknamed “Track Town USA” for the miles of trails that run though the city. But plenty of fun awaits off the beaten path as well. Rolling Stone named Eugene one of “America's Top 10 College Music Scenes that Rock,” and students can watch the scene come to life at venues like WOW Hall. Eugene also has the distinction of being a green-friendly city, so it's no surprise the city made our top 10 green cities list and also contributed to it being named one of the best places to live. The university also offers an extensive public transportation system to help keep its students on the right track.
