If you're looking for locally grown fresh fruits and produce, look no further than Greensboro, NC's Piedmont Triad Farmers Market. One of five farmers markets owned by the State of North Carolina, the Piedmont Triad opened in 1995 and is the largest in the region. The market resides in a state-of-the-art facility and is open year round. Unlike other markets, the only items for sale are those that help sustain and support the farm community and includes only home-grown fruits, vegetables and ornamentals. The market does, however, host special events like crafts fairs, a chili cook-off and Dairy Day.
