CRST International in Cedar Rapids, IA

Founded in 1955, CRST International is one of the nation’s largest transportation companies, providing total transportation solutions to customers all over North America. Every year, we invest millions of dollars to benefit our customers and employees, ensuring we have the best-trained drivers, newest equipment and latest logistics technology. We value the trust invested in us every day as we carry millions of dollars’ worth of inventory across the nation.

Superior Service, Solutions and Capacity
With more than 4,500 trucks, one of the industry’s newest fleets and the largest roster of team drivers available, CRST customers can count on us to make successful deliveries time and time again.

Innovation
CRST has a rich history of being innovative. In 1955, Herald Smith came up with the idea of contracting with those hauling livestock from Cedar Rapids to Chicago to return with loads of steel, rather than empty trucks. From there, CRST was launched.

Seasoned Leadership
CRST is a second-generation family business led by a senior management team with more than 250 years of combined experience. Because we’re family owned and operated, the long-term interests of our customers and company drive our actions.

Employee Growth and Development
CRST focuses heavily on employee and leadership development, offering ample opportunities for employees to take on new challenges and roles within the company. This is one reason Chief Executive Magazine included CRST on its list of 10 Best Private Companies for Leaders.

CRST’s Leadership Development for Management Professionals program, for example, gives those in managerial positions the chance to learn key ways to be successful leaders. During the three-year program, participants complete as many as 25 courses and engage in a variety of skill-building sessions and activities. The six-month Leadership Development for Emerging Leaders program is another way CRST invests in its employees. In addition to being mentored by CRST leaders, select participants explore and strengthen skills through various activities and classroom events.

Community Focused
CRST has strong ties to the community, as we believe in charitable giving and are actively involved in the area. We are especially committed to organizations positively impacting youth and families as well as those supporting arts and culture. We support and partner with a variety of organizations, including United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and Variety Club, just to name a few.
