Startup small businesses are a major source of new jobs and economic growth, and at the new Grow DeSoto Business Incubator they can find an affordable space of their own, as well as access to financing and encouragement from experts.

“The project is intended to allow entry-level entrepreneurs a place to start at a very low cost and with low risk,” says Monte Anderson, one of the driving forces behind the establishment of the incubator.

The Grow Desoto Business Incubator is in the Brookhollow Shopping Center inside a 26,000-square-foot retail building re-purposed to house a variety of restaurants, retail spaces and a shared workspace.

The incubator boasts an open-air, mall environment that is intended to attract a consistent flow of foot traffic. Businesses benefit from reduced rental rates, quick access to I-35 and I-20, and ongoing business training. The surrounding community benefits from a unique retail environment.

The incubator is divided into spaces ranging from 200 to 800 square feet, which allows small businesses to acquire the right amount of space at an affordable rental rate. All bills are included in the rental payment to provide cost predictability to the business owners.

Shared workspaces attract professionals who want to acquire desk space for a reasonable rate instead of paying to lease an entire office.

“We are looking for authentic local entrepreneurs who have the dream and a desire to build wealth. We want to give people an opportunity to build assets and value,” says Anderson.
